success.Job SummaryWe seek a Chief Information Security Officer
(CISO) to lead our information security strategy and initiatives.
The CISO will play a pivotal role in shaping our security posture,
ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and protecting
our digital infrastructure from evolving cyber threats. This
executive position will report directly to our Chief Digital and
Technology Officer (CDTO) and will be a key executive of
Equinix.ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive information security
strategy that is aligned with business objectives, risk appetite,
goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with technology and business leaders to integrate
security considerations into digital initiatives, cloud strategies,
emerging technologies, and operational processes.
- Direct information security budgets, investments, and
technology roadmaps to enhance security capabilities.Risk
Management
- Lead the enterprise-wide information security program ensuring
effective risk management, threat intelligence and incident
response capabilities and appropriate mitigation strategies are in
place.
- Oversee security architecture, engineering and operations to
protect systems, networks, and data from cyber threats.
- Assess and manage third-party vendor security risks ensuring
compliance with security standards and policies.Policy Development
and Compliance
- Create and enforce information security policies, standards,
and procedures and ensure ongoing compliance with relevant
regulations (GDPR, CCPA etc.), audit and reporting
requirements.Incident Response and Recovery
- Lead the development and implementation of an incident response
plan to manage and mitigate security breaches and incidents
effectively.
- Coordinate post-incident analysis to identify lessons learned
and improve security measures.Security Awareness and Training
- Drive a security-first culture across the organization through
executive engagement, training programs, security awareness and
communication initiatives.
- Lead engagement with employees at all levels to promote best
practices in information security.Collaboration and Stakeholder
Engagement
- Work closely with IT, legal, compliance, and other departments
to ensure a unified approach to security.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including customers,
partners, and regulatory bodies, to communicate our commitment to
security.
- Establish and maintain relationships with industry peers and
security organizations to stay abreast of next practices.Technology
and Innovation
- Stay abreast of emerging security technologies and trends,
evaluating their potential impact on the organization.
- Drive the adoption of innovative security solutions to enhance
our security posture and operational efficiency.Performance Metrics
and Reporting
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the
effectiveness of the information security program.
- Provide regular reports to the executive team and the board of
directors on the status of information security initiatives and
risks.QualificationsThe Chief Information Security Officer must be
a well-rounded, seasoned and strategic leader capable of effecting
system-wide change through influence and persuasion.
- Proven security-related executive leadership within a complex
global business environment, including experience as a large-scale
global company's Chief Information Security Officer.
- Strong track record of leadership, with the ability to
influence the organization across all divisions and effectively
communicate a business vision, key objectives, security needs, and
personal contributions. Effective and comfortable managing
different stakeholders without full accountability for the entire
security landscape of the organization.
- Established history of effectively building and leading large
teams internationally with an impressive track record of developing
talent. Highly technical, confident at the operational management
level, and comfortable in an engineering-heavy organization.
- Strong quantitative and analytical abilities with a deep
understanding of how to develop relevant metrics that track
activity and quantify the impact of security initiatives on the
business's finances, growth, and performance. Ability to calculate
execution velocity.
- Experience with securing highly sensitive data and maintaining
its security as a top priority; understanding big data and
technology at scale.
- Experience designing enterprise-wide information security
organizational structures and processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience
presenting to Senior Executive Teams, ability to effectively
communicate with a senior audience and convey the health of the
security program.
- Strong leader, team player, and contributor. Self-motivated and
self-directed.
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and conflicting priorities,
preferably in a technology culture.
- Experience with standards and best practices such as NIST
Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), ISO 27001-27002, Common
Criteria.
- Demonstrated knowledge of information technology security,
trends, leading practices, and regulatory and industry standard
compliance issues such as, Payment Card Industry Standard (PCI),
and FIPS-140, including government security standards such as
FedRAMP, NIS, and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)
